Discover with us the Hungarian village of Rimetea, situated in a wonderful valley in the middle of Trascau Mountains, overlooked by the rocky peak of Piatra Secuiului and Coltesti village with its fortress built in 1296, with a clear defensive role back in the troubled medieval days.

Then continue to Alba Iulia, city with a high importance in Romania’s history being the place where Romanian Principalities and Transylvania united to form Romania after the First World War. The city is also home of the best preserved Vauban fortress in Europe, designed by an Italian architect in the early 18th century, modeled on a star shape with seven points, with its walls 3m tall and arrow-shaped bastions, the fortress is outstanding both for its baroque decorative elements and for the beauty of its six gates.

We begin with the visit of Rimetea village that has a history of over 1000 years. Located in front of an 1129 m high rocky mountain, Rimetea is an old Hungarian village with remarkable houses that have an unique architecture; where the sun rises twice a day.

After visiting the village, a few kilometers away, we will stop for a great Hungarian lunch in Coltești.

We will continue our trip to Aiud (possible stop), where the elite of the resistance suffered and died in the communist period.

Then we will stop in Alba Iulia, and we will discover the story of the Habsburg citadel, one of the most impressive citadels in Europe, with its historical, cultural and architectural places of interest such: the Roman Catholic Cathedral - the oldest and most valuable monument of architecture in Transylvania., the Batthyaneum Library, the Orthodox Cathedral of the Reunification, the Babilon Building - housing the National Museum of Unification, the Union Hall, the Apor Palace, the Princely Palace, and the University of Alba Iulia.
