Thanks to the relatively low level of human intervention, Romania has become home to the largest brown bear population in Europe. Here, in the heart of the Carpathian mountains, you have the chance to observe these majestic animals in the wild, in their natural habitat, find out interesting facts about the bear life in the wilderness and capture unique moments with your camera.
Join us for a bear watching adventure trip in the forests near Brasov, together with a specialized guide that will answer all your questions.
The bear watching takes place late in the afternoon, starts around 3 PM - 4 PM* and it lasts for about 4-5 hours. It is available from Monday to Sunday from May to October. As of May, the bears near Brasov start to wake up from the winter sleep, and as the weather gets warmer the chances to see the bears are increasing considerably.
* The availability and starting times may vary depending on the season. If you want to go bear-watching before May, please contact us to see if it's possible.
Schedule:
In the afternoon, your guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Brasov.
After 1h - 1h 30 min drive, you will arrive at the meeting point with the forest ranger. Once arrived at the bear hide, wait quietly until the bears arrive at the site and feel free to take photos or videos of them.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask your guide, he would gladly explain interesting facts about the wildlife in Romania.
Just before darkness falls, you will go back to the car and your guide will drop you off at your accommodation in Brasov.
