5 Days Masai Mara And Amboseli Safari 5 days

Day 1: Depart from Nairobi city for Amboseli National Park

On the first day of your 5 days, the Masai Mara - Amboseli safari starts from Nairobi and on this day you will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi, after early morning breakfast you will be picked up by your safari guide who will brief you about the safari then embark on your journey to Amboseli national park. From Nairobi town it is a drive of 222 kilometres through Namanga town at the Kenya-Tanzania border, you get to Amboseli National Park in time for lunch. After lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive in the plains of Amboseli, while driving through the park you get to view many animals such as African elephant, buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, Thomson's gazelle, Burchell's zebra and many more. Animals in Amboseli National Park are best spotted at the observation hill, after the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, freshen up, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Full-day game drive in Amboseli National Park

This second day of your safari is the most adventurous day offering you the best of Amboseli National Park for the whole day, on this day you will wake up early for a morning game drive. Early morning game drive is a great chance for you to view many animals such as African elephants, buffalo, impalas, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, Thomson's gazelle, Burchell's zebra before they disperse in the park. After the morning game drive you will turn to your lodge for breakfast, after breakfast you will chill at the lodge up to the afternoon or opt for a nature walk in the park. In the afternoon you go for an afternoon game drive where you will watch animals you might have missed on the morning game drive. After the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, freshen up, have dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park - Masai Mara National Reserve

The third day of the safari is typically a day of travel/ transferring from Amboseli National Park to Masai Mara National Reserve, you wake up in the morning for breakfast and after breakfast, you check off your lodge and embark on your drive to Masai Mara national reserve. From Amboseli National Park it is a distance of 517 kilometres and takes approximately 9-10 hours of drive, on your way you have a stopover for lunch at Narok Town for lunch then proceed to the park. You are to arrive in Masai Mara National Reserve late in the afternoon and you will not do anything other than check in to your lodge, freshen up, relax, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Full-day game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve

On this 4 day of your safari you are to have a full-day game drive in the park, you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast and after you will drive to Masai Mara National Reserve for a game drive. Masai Mara National Park is a great habitat for many animals which are easily spotted while driving through the park such as lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes, elephants and many more. After the game drive you will have lunch at your lodge as you rest for an afternoon activity, in the afternoon you will go for a hot air balloon safari. Hot air balloons used in safari are stationed at Little Governor's camp where the safari begins, this safari offers you one hour of viewing the park and its animals from the sky. After the hot air balloon safari you will drive back to your lodge, freshen up have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Drive from Masai Mara National Reserve back to Nairobi

On this fifth last day of your safari you wake up early in the morning for breakfast, after breakfast check out your lodge and depart from Masai Mara National Reserve for Nairobi, from Nairobi to Masai Mara it is a drive of 5-6 hours your way, you will have a stopover in Narok town for lunch. You are expected to reach Nairobi in the evening and when you reach, you will have a drop-off either at your hotel or at the airport marking the end of your safari.
