The first stop takes us to an unrestored Ahu, Vaihu (Ceremonial Site), located in the bay of Hanga Tee on the south coast of the island, witnessing a phase of destruction a few centuries ago.
We continue to the Akahanga region, whose legend tells us that the tomb of the famous king Hotu Matua is located next to the Ahu. Then we arrive at one of the most important sites of the Rapa Nui culture, the Rano Raraku quarry, where a total of approx. 900 statues were carved, 397 of them still lying or standing at different times of their construction and transport. We proceed to Ahu Tongariki, restored in 1995, with its 15 standing statues. The penultimate site we will visit is the "Navel of the World", together with the Ahu Te Pito Kura. Finally, we arrive at Anakena Beach where we find 2 platforms, the Ahu Nau Nau and the Ahu Ature Huki, both restored. We can also appreciate the warm waters of the Pacific, and relax on the beach with pink sand under palm trees. Box lunch included. Return to the hotel.
