Breakfast. Visit Amman's downtown market and city center, its traditional souks, coffee shops, restaurants selling local food and sweets, churches, and mosques, amongst other popular places. Amman is also the ancient city of Philadelphia with its Roman Theatre and many other monuments such as the Citadel. Then, head to visit Jerash, and wander amongst the original temples, theaters, plazas, paths, and colonnaded streets, all enclosed within the remaining city walls. Within the city walls have been found the remains of settlements dating from the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Umayyad, and Abbasid periods, indicating human occupation at this location for more than 2,500 years. Continue to visit Ajloun Castle overlooking the Jordan Valley. Return to Amman. Overnight in Amman. (local Guide in Jerash).
Breakfast. Transfer to Mt. Nebo where Moses died. Enjoy the view of the Holy Land and also see more mosaics of different animals and figures found inside the church of Mount Nebo. Next, drive to Madaba to visit the must-see site in town, the Church of St. George, now a Greek Orthodox Basilica, home of the enormous Madaba Mosaic Map. With its richly-detailed rendering of Jerusalem, Jericho, Bethlehem, and other holy sites, the map was rediscovered in 1894 and has since been brilliantly restored. Continue South to Kerak and visit its imposing crusader castle. It is a large medieval castle located in al-Karak, Jordan. It is one of the largest castles in the Levant. Construction began in the 1140s, under Pagan and Fulk, King of Jerusalem. The Crusaders called it Crac des Moabites or "Karak in Moab" as it is referred to in history books. It was also colloquially referred to as Karak of the Desert. Then, head to the Nabatean Red-Rose City of Petra. Overnight in Petra.
Breakfast. Start your visit to one of the world's seven wonders. A city 139 miles (225 kilometers) from Amman, carved in stone more than 2000 years ago to dominate the trade routes of ancient Arabia. Visit its towns, dams, and water channels. First, walk the Siq, a narrow path of three-quarters of a mile (1.2 kilometers), which is the main entrance to the city. At the end of the Siq, you will see the treasury "Khazneh" - which was believed to hold countless treasures. The first view of the "Khazneh" is breathtaking. Then, head to visit Little Petra, Beyond Umm Sayhun, a short distance North of Petra, the road runs between wild and beautiful outcrops of rock, the color of pale honey. It is called al-Beidha in Arabic, 'the white one'. Al-Beidha was also one of the main commercial areas of Petra, the entry and exit point for the trade routes to the North and North-West. Then, drive to visit Wadi Rum, also known as the “Valley of the Moon”, where many parts of the famous movies “Lawrence of Arabia” and "The Martian" were filmed. Wadi Rum is a uniquely shaped massive mountain that rose amongst the rosy red sand of the desert with towering cliffs of various brownish, reddish, and golden colors. Discover Wadi Rum by 2 hours 4x4 jeep tour. Dinner & overnight in Wadi Rum. (local guide in Petra).
Breakfast. Transfer to the Dead Sea which sits 400 meters below sea level. The Dead Sea is one of the most incredible places in the world. It is known for the Biblical story of the destruction of Sodom and Amora, which was turned into salt. The Dead Sea speaks for itself; there is no living fish! It is by far one of Jordan's most impressive and spectacular places to visit. Its calm shining water glowing from its scorching sun above is known for its high concentration of salt and minerals, making it a therapeutic and a unique swimming experience not to be missed. Overnight at the Dead Sea.
