7:00 Pickup from Your Accommodation in Livingstone

  • Departure: Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel or lodge in Livingstone.
  • Travel to Chobe: The drive from Livingstone to Chobe National Park takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Be prepared for a scenic journey and enjoy the sights as you cross into Botswana.
  • Border Crossing: As you'll be crossing from Zambia into Botswana, ensure you have your passport and any necessary visas for the border crossing. This process typically takes around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic and the time of day.

8:30 Arrival at Chobe National Park

  • Welcome & Introduction: Once you arrive at the park, you’ll be welcomed by your local guide who will provide an overview of the day’s itinerary.
  • Park Entry Fees: If not included in your tour package, you may need to pay for park entrance fees here. Your guide will assist with this process.

9:00 Morning Game Drive

  • Game Drive Begins: Start your morning game drive through Chobe National Park. The game drive lasts about 3 hours and will take you deep into the park’s diverse ecosystems, including savannah, woodland, and riverfront areas.
  • Wildlife Viewing: Early mornings are excellent for spotting wildlife, as animals are more active in the cooler hours. Expect to see large herds of elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, giraffes, and a variety of antelopes.

12:00 Buffet Lunch at Chobe Safari Lodge or a Nearby Lodge

  • Arrive at Lodge: After the morning game drive, you’ll head to Chobe Safari Lodge or another nearby lodge for a well-deserved lunch.
  • Buffet Style Meal: Enjoy a buffet lunch that typically includes a variety of dishes. Expect options such as salads, grilled meats (chicken, beef, or lamb), vegetarian options, and local African dishes. There will also be fresh fruits, desserts, and a selection of drinks available.
  • Scenic Views: The lodge is located near the Chobe River, so you can relax and enjoy your meal with scenic views of the river and surrounding wildlife.

13:30 Chobe River Safari (Boat Cruise)

  • Depart for River Safari: After lunch, you’ll head to the Chobe River for the much-anticipated river safari. This boat cruise takes you along the Chobe River’s banks, where you can get close-up views of animals drinking, bathing, and playing in the water.
  • Duration: The river safari lasts around 2 to 2.5 hours.
  • Wildlife on the River: Keep an eye out for elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds like kingfishers, herons, and eagles. The boat’s low profile allows you to get remarkably close to the wildlife without disturbing them, providing unique and unforgettable views.
  • Birdwatching: The Chobe River is a paradise for birdwatchers, so make sure to bring your binoculars if you're interested in spotting a variety of species.

15:30 Return to Chobe Entrance

  • End of River Safari: After the river safari, you’ll return to the park entrance. Take a moment to stretch, refresh, and enjoy the last views of the river and park.
  • Optional Short Break: Depending on the time and your tour schedule, there may be a quick stop for snacks or refreshments before heading back to Livingstone.

16:00 Departure for Livingstone

  • Return Journey: Your guide and driver will transfer you back to Livingstone, and the journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • Scenic Drive: Enjoy the scenic drive back, keeping an eye out for any wildlife along the way. You can relax and reminisce about your adventure in Chobe.

18:00 Arrival in Livingstone

  • Drop-off at Your Accommodation: Once you arrive back in Livingstone, you will be dropped off at your hotel or lodge, concluding your incredible Chobe full-day safari experience.
