Day 1: Moshi to Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut (2,700m) - Distance: 8 km / Hiking Time: 4-5 hours -Highlights: Begin your journey with a scenic drive to Marangu Gate (1,870m). After registration, hike through lush rainforests teeming with wildlife and towering trees. Arrive at **Mandara Hut** for dinner and overnight stay in cosy cabins.
Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut (3,720m)** - Distance:** 12 km / **Hiking Time:** 6-8 hours - Highlights:** Leave the forest behind and ascend through rolling moorlands filled with giant lobelias and groundsels. Enjoy stunning views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks before reaching **Horombo Hut**. Rest, relax, and soak in the mountain atmosphere.
Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut (4,703m) - Distance: 10 km / Hiking Time: 6-7 hours - Highlights: Trek across alpine deserts, passing the famous “Last Water Point” as you approach **Kibo Hut** at the mountain’s base. Rest early to prepare for your midnight summit push.
