Enjoy abundant wildlife discovery in Etosha National Park, visit the rock engraving site and UNESCO World Heritage Site at Twyfelfontein/ Damaraland, see Seal Fur Colony at Cape Cross /Skeleton Coast, and finish your wonderful safari by relaxing in Swakopmund beach resort.
Our first journey to Namibia’s famous animal kingdom - Etosha National Park - boasts some of Africa’s best wildlife viewing opportunities. You have a chance to photograph all of Africa’s wildlife including lions, elephants, rhinos, zebra, giraffes, cheetah, ostrich and many species of antelopes. Upon entry into the park, we do a game drive to our overnight lodge and perhaps we will be lucky to see lions or elephants. After dinner, we will still have more time to view animals at the floodlit waterhole a stone throw from the comfort of our rooms. Overnight stay at Okaukuejo rest camp.
Full day of game drives inside Etosha National Park toward the western Etosha, visiting numerous waterholes hoping to see some lions, elephants, or other member of Africa’s big game as they emerge from the long night to quench their thirst. We cap off an exciting day with a delicious dinner and many stories to tell. Overnight stay at Dolomite Rest Camp inside the park.
Depart from Etosha to Namibia’s first ever World Heritage site (status awarded in 2007) Twyfelfontein (meaning doubtful fountain). This massive open-air art gallery is of great interest to local and international rock and art connoisseurs. The 2000 plus rock engravings estimated to be 6000 years old, represent one of Africa’s largest and most important concentration of rock art. Overnight stay at Twyfelfontein lodge or similar.
This is our last day in Damaraland, and after a delicious breakfast we are back on the road through the desert landscape of northwestern Namibia to the cool and often foggy Skeleton Coast. En-route we visit Seal Colony at Cape Cross. The C34 route southwards leads us pass Hentisbay a small holiday resort before reaching Swakopmund. Overnight at Beach Hotel or similar.
The day is spent at leisure; Swakopmund is the perfect place for relaxing after a hectic dose of admiring nature. If resting is not your thing, you can take part in many (optional activities at your own cost) such as, kayaking, board- cruiser, Sandwich harbour, quad-bike in the dunes; skydive from a light aircraft, horse/camel riding or visit the museum or National Aquarium. Your guide is always available for any arrangement of your activities. Overnight stay at Beach Hotel or similar.
Our tour is slowly ending, after breakfast we take a slow drive back to Windhoek. If time permit a stop at the woodcarvers market in Okahandja is highly recommended to buy some last time souvenir and to stretch up. Thereaftere we continue with our journey to Windhoek. You will be dropped off at your accommodation of choice. End of tour.
