Maximize your chances of viewing wildlife in Chobe National Park on this full-day excursion from Victoria Falls. Take a safari through the park and cruise down the Chobe River with a guide for the opportunity to see native wildlife like big cats and tropical birds in their natural habitat. This is a unique day trip to Chobe National Park from Victoria Falls that includes the drive through Zambezi National Park at sunrise and sunset to see nocturnal animals in their natural environment.
Experience two activities in the famous Chobe National Park and get the best of both worlds in specially adapted open 4x4s and by boat. This is one of those unique opportunities to experience some of the best up-close game viewing Africa has to offer.
Guests will be picked up from their Victoria Falls/Livingstone hotel at 05:00hrs for the transfer to Chobe National Park (Botswana) via the Zambezi/Mosi-OA-Tunya National Parks. This is the choicest time of the day to encounter some of the parks big cats and other nocturnals on the one hour drive to the border through the Zambezi National Park.
We will be at the Chobe National Park's gate slightly before 06:30hrs to start the day with half a day game drive in the park. This gives the guests a good chance to get close to nature with specially adapted open 4x4 vehicles. Frequent lion sightings occur in Chobe, eland, sable, and roan antelope are common at certain times of the year. Leopards are elusive but common in the area - you may be lucky! Drives are typically along the waterfront where game congregates to quench their thirst, with lions often lying in wait or just dozing in the shade.
Complimentary soft drinks are provided throughout the trip while experiencing some of the best game viewings in Africa. The drive will continue until the lunch break at about 12:30.
Lunch (served buffet style) will be at the Chobe Safari Lodge (or similar) and after lunch, you will have some time to relax before the afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River. This is a three hours cruise starting at 15:00 and ending at 18:00. The cruise affords an opportunity to see a host of waders and water birds along with the ever-present crocodiles and lurking hippos. Chobe is renowned for scores of large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink - most notably Cape buffalo and elephant. On the island, Puku and Lechwe are often seen and on the banks' kudu, impala and waterbuck are common and. Of course you will have a chance to experience the African sunset from your boat on the Chobe River. Complimentary soft drinks are included on the boat, as well as tea and coffee and a light snack.
Guests will be at the Zimbabwe border at 19:00 (or 17:00 at the Kazungula Ferry for Zambia) for the transfer to their Victoria Falls/Livingstone hotels. Again this is the best time to see the cats of the Zambezi National Park as they will be out and hunting. You will be at your hotel at around 20:00 in time for dinner and a well-deserved rest.
The main focus of the tour is to encounter as much wildlife in the Zambezi and Chobe National Park during the quieter times of the day.

"Will the Zimbabwe border be closed before 1900 as the description said tour participants will reach the border at 1900 but some said border is closed at 1800"
Response from organiser:
The border between Zimbabwe and Botswana opens at 06H00 and closes at 20H00 so we will be on time for the border. We depart from hotels in Victoria Falls at 05H00 so that we will be at the border when it opens at 06H00. Guest will be back at the hotel at 20H00 latest.
"We are a family of 5 adults staying in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. How many passengers do you take, maximum? As it will be quite hot, is there any head covering on the vehicle or is it all open? Do you pickup from Lokuthula Lodges? Any further information appreciated."
Response from organiser:
We take a maximum of nine passengers (the maximum carrying capacity of our safari vehicles) per trip. Our safari vehicles are all covered on top and they are open sided for maximum game viewing – there is no need to worry about direct sun heat. We do pick from anywhere in Victoria Falls and this includes the Lokuthula Lodges. You are advised to buy the KAZA UNI-VISA on arrival at the Victoria Falls Airport. Its cost US$50.00 per person and is good for Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana.

The national park is beautiful, with a river running along a large tract of land. There are less animals in the game drive on land compared with another national park we visited as the animals are sheltered under the bush. However, there was a great and interesting variety of animals and birds when we did our cruise in the afternoon. The driver in the morning game drive, Vincent, was very nice and patient.
