Day 1-2 Arrival - Kandy - Pinnawala elephant orphanage

kandy, byname maha nuwara (“great city”), it is the capital of the central province. it lies on the mahaweli river on the shore of an artificial lake that was constructed (1807) by the last kandyan king, sri wickrama rajasinha. kandy known as a pilgrimage destination for the temple of the tooth relic a listed unesco world heritage site in 1988. kandy was the last capital of the sinhala kings for more than 2,500 years until the occupation of sri lanka by the british in 1815. the kandy city is full of history, culture and unique personality. the city is surrounded by some majestic mountains and it attractive touring destinations for the travelers, who want to enjoy the natural beauty of this island along with exploring the rich and colorful culture.

the pinnawala elephant orphanage is located in the village pinnawala northwest of the town of kegalle, halfway to the ancient royal residence kandy. it was established in 1975 by the sri lanka wildlife department in a 25-acre coconut property adjoining the maha oya river. the orphanage was originally founded in order to afford care and protection to the many orphaned elephants found in the jungles of sri lanka. the aim of the orphanage is to simulate a natural habitat to these elephants. the elephants are taken to the river twice a day for a bath, and all the babies less than three years of age are still bottle fed by the mahouts and volunteers.

Day 3-4 Nuwara Eliya

at 2,000 meters above sea level, nuwara eliya, is located at a distance of 180km into the central highlands from the capital city of colombo in the western coast. nuwara eliya is known as “city on the plain”, “little england". it is one of the major teas producing areas in south asia. it is the tea capital of central highlands, is the prime tea growing district of sri lanka. moreover, nuwara eliya is the premier holiday resort of the central highlands of sri lanka among the foreign tourists as well as sri lankan tourists. as well as this is one of leisure destinations in sri lanka.

it is also home to some beautiful waterfalls such as ramboda falls, devon falls, and laksapana falls. trekking and hiking expeditions usually evolve around these land marks. nuwara eliya has an average temperature of 16 degrees and sometimes can decrease to extreme conditions such as 3 degrees due to the high altitudes.

· en-route to nuwara eliya you will visit a tea factory and one of the most beautiful water falls in sri lanka known as ramboda water fall, enjoy the scenic beauty of central highland.

· after the lunch you will explore “little england” a city tour with option to walk around the streets and to complete with a lake, race track, well- kept lawns with hedges, an anglican church and an 18-hole golf course.

Day 5-6 Bentota

bentota is a fantastic beach destination, offering the ideal combination of culture, adventure, and rest and leisure. in bentota, there are numerous water sports to choose from. wind surfing, banana boat excursions, canyoning, jet skiing, wake boarding, and other activities are all possible in the crystal-clear turquoise sea and lagoon. there is beautiful white sand, and the beach itself is well-maintained. there are bars and restaurants just off the beach too.

sri lanka is a haven for nature enthusiasts, with a rich bio variety. some sites are breathtakingly gorgeous, attracting hundreds of people with their enchanted landscapes and tranquil ambience. the madu river safari is a peaceful excursion with plenty of sights to view. you'll travel by dozens of little islands covered in mangroves, see historic temples, and see natives cultivate cinnamon. madu ganga is sri lanka's second largest wetland, with 64 islands, including two main islands that are home to 215 families. this wetland covers an area of 900 hectares, with water covering the most of it.
