Enjoy a 6-day tour to Sri Lanka and experience the country on good quality, air-conditioned, comfortable vehicles with a local driver/guide. Head to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, set up especially for abandoned or injured baby elephants. Visit the Dambulla cave temple, the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Move to Sigiriya and climb the Rock Fortress built by King Kasyapa the Patricide (473-491), considered a god-king.
Day 1 Arrival - Colombo
Ceylon classic tours, a representative will meet you at the Bandaranaike International Airport and take you to your hotel in Colombo. After checking in at the hotel, you will go on an afternoon city tour of Colombo. You will return to the hotel for dinner. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Colombo.
Day 2 Colombo - Polonnaruwa
After breakfast proceeds to Polonnaruwa the second capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to the 13th century AD. This ancient city is today one of the most beautiful centers of this island’s cultural heritage. We will also visit the remains of the Royal Palace and Parakrama Samudra, a huge man-made water reservoir. We will check-in at the hotel for dinner. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Polonnaruwa.
Day 3 Sigiriya - Dambulla - Kandy
Breakfast at the hotel will be followed by a visit to Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Having climbed the rock, you will encounter the remains of the palace and its surroundings. En route to Kandy, we will visit the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple and a Spice Garden in Matale. We will check-in at the hotel before an afternoon visit to the Temple of the Tooth and a Kandyan cultural dance performance. At the end of the day, we will return to the hotel for dinner. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Kandy.
Day 4 Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast at the hotel, on the way to Nuwara Eliya, we will take the Upper Lake Drive and visit the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela, and a Tea Plantation, to see women plucking the ‘Green Gold’ tea leaves. Upon arrival at Nuwara Eliya, we will take a late afternoon tour of Little England before dinner and check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 5 Nuwara Eliya - Yala National Park
We depart for Yala after breakfast. We will go on an afternoon visit to Yala National Park or Bundala Wildlife Park. You will see a vast array of animals including deer, peacock, elephant, wild buffalo, and the lucky visitors may get to see a leopard or bear. At the end of the tour, you will check-in at the hotel for dinner. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Tissamaharama.
Day 6 Yala - Galle - Colombo
After breakfast, you will visit the Galle Dutch Fort before your return to Colombo, transfer to the airport or drop off at a beach extension hotel of your choice
